In 2026 we reviewed the published offers of 121 certification programs across 25 holistic modalities in the United States, then kept, for each modality, the leading providers with a published curriculum, price and schedule (three to five per modality).
Class time counts teaching days only: 7 hours a day for the market, the published norm, and 8 hours a day for Harmonika, whose days run as two 4-hour half-days. Home study, client sessions, internships and practicum hours are excluded. Tuition is the published price for the full certification path, before discounts. Cost per teaching hour is median tuition divided by median class hours, calculated from unrounded medians.
Where the leading programs are self-paced online courses (aromatherapy in particular), class time is the course length the provider publishes, which lowers the cost per hour. Delivery mix comes from the same survey and describes the share of providers teaching online, hybrid or in person. Prices change: check each provider before you enroll. Harmonika Institute figures are shown for reference and are not part of the medians.

Access Bars has the highest median cost per teaching hour in our data, at about $63. Aromatherapy has the lowest, at about $8 per hour, because its leading programs are long relative to their price.
