Valérie Fabre
Founder & Director, Harmonika Institute
Valérie Fabre founded Harmonika Institute in 2025 to build the school she wished had existed when she retrained: one that takes both the practitioner and the ethics of the craft seriously. She sets its curriculum, its faculty standards, and the editorial voice behind everything the school publishes — including this Journal.
★Harmonika Institute is an establishment approved by FEDE (Fédération Européenne Des Écoles).

A career built on presence.
Valérie's first career was the opposite of stillness. A French polyglot who speaks five languages — French, English, Spanish, German and Chinese — she followed a love of travel into international trade, where she spent thirteen years moving between markets and cultures.
Becoming a mother of three changed the equation. The pace of constant travel was no longer one she wanted to sustain, and she went looking for work rooted in people rather than logistics. She found it in kinesiology — a hands-on practice of accompaniment, one client and one session at a time.
For ten years she saw clients in private practice. That decade is the foundation of everything the Institute teaches: she isn't relaying theory, she's transmitting a craft she has lived. In 2025 she founded Harmonika Institute to pass it on — and to give the wellness professions the serious, ethical training she believes they deserve.
Today she splits her time between Dallas and Miami, and runs the Institute alongside her son Florent, a UC Berkeley graduate.

Founder, director, editor.
As founder and director, Valérie owns two things most schools keep separate: what is taught and how it is communicated. She approves each program's scope and learning outcomes, and she holds the line the faculty teach — that a Harmonika certification is a private, non-clinical credential, described honestly to every prospective student.
She also directs the Journal. Its purpose isn't to sell; it's to help people make a clear-eyed decision about a career in holistic practice — including the parts that are hard, slow, or not for everyone. Every article is written to that brief, under her standards.
Why every cohort meets in person.
“You cannot learn to hold space for another person through a screen.”
Valérie built Harmonika Institute around one non-negotiable: training happens in person. She is convinced that fully online, video-only programs hold the wellness professions back — that you cannot learn to read, and properly support, another person at a distance. It's the reason every Harmonika cohort meets in real rooms, in real cities, whether the school is in France or the United States.
In person, on purpose
Holistic practice is a relational craft learned hand-to-hand. Presence isn't a nice-to-have; it's the method.
Honest scope
No inflated claims, no implied medical authority. Graduates can describe exactly what their credential is — and isn't.
Lineage over hype
Every modality has a tradition. Faculty teach within their lineages and are explicit about what they transmit.
