Why Ayurveda in San Jose?

Coaches here often work with tech professionals whose sleep, meals, and energy have drifted under launch schedules, offering seasonal routines and food guidance through consultations in Willow Glen or Mountain View and by video across the Peninsula. Some partner with yoga studios for workshops on eating with the seasons. Stay clear about scope: Ayurveda coaching supports daily habits and wellbeing, so questions about medications or medical conditions go to the client's physician.

San Jose's wellness market is the most tech-driven in our network. Our students here disproportionately come from software and hardware engineering, product management, and venture capital. The Silicon Valley mindfulness movement (Search Inside Yourself, the broader contemplative-tech ecosystem) has shaped client expectations toward sophisticated, evidence-aware practitioners.

For students of Ayurveda specifically, San Jose's scene is a particularly good match: tech-driven student profile. highest absolute pricing power for graduate practitioners. The local cohort runs in venue partners around Downtown San Jose, Willow Glen, Mountain View, with public transit and parking accessible from across the metro.

San Jose students are often 30-48, with strong representation from tech (engineers, PMs, designers in active career questioning), biotech, and consulting. They tend to be highly educated, well-paid, and often have mature personal contemplative practices already.

The modality

What you'll be training in.

For a deeper introduction to Ayurveda as a practice tradition, see the full program page.

Ayurveda is the traditional medical system of India, with documented roots going back at least three thousand years (the Caraka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita, foundational classical texts, were compiled around 200 BCE to 200 CE from earlier oral traditions). It is one of the world's oldest continuously-practiced wellness systems and remains widely practiced in India today, where Ayurvedic doctors are state-licensed alongside biomedical practitioners.

Ayurveda's central framework is the three doshas: vata (the subtle, mobile, dry principle associated with movement and the nervous system), pitta (the transformative, warm, sharp principle associated with digestion and metabolism), and kapha (the stable, cool, moist principle associated with structure and lubrication). Every individual carries a specific constitutional balance of the three (prakriti) and a specific current imbalance (vikriti); Ayurvedic recommendations work to bring the current state back toward the constitutional baseline through food, lifestyle, herbs, and seasonal routines.
