In the U.S., hands-on magnetism is closest to three related methods: Therapeutic Touch, Pranic Healing and biomagnetism. As published in September 2026, entry courses run from 12 hours (Therapeutic Touch Foundations) to 4 days (Global Biomagnetism), with Basic Pranic Healing at $400 to $575. Titles such as QTTP and Certified Pranic Healer then take about a year of documented practice or mentorship. Choose by method and follow-up.

All three methods formalize an assessment before any intervention. Therapeutic Touch teaches assessment of the field, Pranic Healing teaches scanning the aura and energy centers with the hands, and Global Biomagnetism teaches body scanning techniques. The practitioner builds a picture of the person's state first, then chooses what to do.
Therapeutic Touch calls it unruffling the field; Pranic Healing calls it cleansing or sweeping congested energy. Both are hand movements made near the body and are the gestures closest to the magnetic passes of the European tradition, where the practitioner releases excess before restoring balance.
Therapeutic Touch and Pranic Healing both present the practitioner's preparation as a skill, through centering, meditation or breathing. Both also close the session explicitly, with grounding in Therapeutic Touch and cutting the energetic link with the client in Pranic Healing, to protect the practitioner and end the work cleanly.
Entry training is short everywhere: Therapeutic Touch Foundations lasts at least 12 hours, Basic Pranic Healing runs over two days, and Global Biomagnetism Level 1 spans four days. Each is followed by further levels with prerequisites, such as Transpersonal Nature of TT, advanced Pranic Healing courses or Biomagnetism Level 2.
Follow-up is part of each path. Therapeutic Touch requires at least 36 hours of mentorship over a year, Pranic Healing's CPH pairs candidates with a senior instructor mentor, and Global Biomagnetism includes three monthly two-hour mentoring meetings on Zoom plus a private group.
Therapeutic Touch was created by Dolores Krieger, a nurse and NYU professor, with Dora Kunz. Its association publishes practice and teaching standards, a code of ethics and guidance on working with care teams. The QTTP credential requires 104 practice sessions, 75 of them documented, along with a reflective journal and dialogue.
Pranic Healing teaches energizing, directing energy to depleted areas, alongside sweeping, and works with the aura and 11 major chakras. Its standardized Basic course is a prerequisite for every other MCKS course, and the Certified Pranic Healer title requires 50 documented cases, a mentor and exams.
Global Biomagnetism, in the Goiz tradition, places pairs of static magnets on the body. Its 2026 classes run live on Zoom, capped at 20 students, and cover biomagnetic pairs, pH balance and body scanning, with Level 2 adding emotional pairs and transgenerational conflicts.
"Magnetic healing" can describe hands-on passes in the European tradition or methods using static magnets. Therapeutic Touch and Pranic Healing work with the hands near or on the body; Global Biomagnetism uses magnet pairs. Read each curriculum to confirm which approach you will actually learn.
An entry course opens a longer path at most providers. Therapeutic Touch's QTTP requires mentorship over at least a year and 75 documented sessions, and Pranic Healing's CPH requires 50 documented cases and exams. Decide whether you want a long credential path or a compact program.
Think about whether you prefer light touch, hands held above the body or magnets. Pranic Healing teaches without contact, Therapeutic Touch works with the field around the person, and biomagnetism places magnets on the body. Offering touch and no-touch options helps you adapt to each client.
Basic Pranic Healing costs $400 to $575 depending on the center, and Global Biomagnetism lists $1,100 to $1,250 per level in 2026. Therapeutic Touch fees are set by each teacher and mentor, so ask for the total, including mentorship, before you commit.

Harmonika Institute's certificate is a private certification, not a license, with no outside accreditation. Check your state's rules on touch and wellness services before charging for sessions.
Magnetism in the European tradition, from Mesmer to Deleuze, uses the practitioner's hands, passes and breath. Biomagnetism, as taught by Global Biomagnetism in the Goiz tradition, places pairs of static magnets on the body. Therapeutic Touch and Pranic Healing are closer to hands-on magnetism, with field assessment and sweeping movements.
European-style magnetism has no native training network in the U.S., so we selected the three most structured neighboring organizations with published programs: Therapeutic Touch International Association, Pranic Healing (MCKS) and Global Biomagnetism. Low-cost magnet-product diplomas and individual practitioners without a published program were left out. Data were collected from each provider's website in September 2026 and are reported as published. Fees change, so check with each provider.
