Minnesota's practical streak shows in who studies hypnosis here: nurses from Allina and Fairview, social workers, and school staff who value a method with defined steps over anything mystical. The Certified Hypnosis Practitioner training gives them exactly that, six in-person days on induction, deepening, suggestion, and scope, with generous time to rehearse inductions aloud with classmates and faculty.

Why Hypnosis in Minneapolis?
Practitioners typically see clients in office suites on St. Paul's Cathedral Hill, in Northeast, or in Edina, and many sessions center on sleep, stage fright before recitals and board meetings, or habits like late-night scrolling. Twin Cities clients research carefully and appreciate modest promises. With so many clients working in healthcare themselves, medical questions come up often, and pointing those back to the client's own care team is part of doing this work well.
The Twin Cities' wellness market is shaped by the major healthcare systems (Mayo Clinic, Allina, Fairview, HealthPartners) and a uniquely community-oriented wellness culture. Our Minneapolis students are often nurses, social workers, and educators — practitioners who arrive with strong relational skills and look for embodied complement to their primary work.
For students of Hypnosis specifically, Minneapolis's scene is a particularly good match: healthcare-system pipeline. community-oriented practitioner culture. The local cohort runs in venue partners around Northeast Minneapolis, Uptown, St. Paul (Cathedral Hill), with public transit and parking accessible from across the metro.
Twin Cities students are often 35-55, with backgrounds in nursing, social work, education, and healthcare administration. They tend to be unusually relationally skilled, value practical applications over spiritual abstraction, and often build practices serving specific community populations (older adults, family caregivers, religious community members).
What you'll be training in.
For a deeper introduction to Hypnosis as a practice tradition, see the full program page.
Hypnosis is a focused, relaxed, attentive state in which the conscious critical faculty becomes quiet and the deeper, more associative parts of the mind become more accessible to suggestion. It is not sleep, it is not loss of control, and it is not a trick — it is a particular configuration of attention that humans have been entering and using deliberately for thousands of years.
A modern hypnosis session typically follows a clear arc. The practitioner builds rapport, agrees on a focused goal, and uses an induction (progressive relaxation, fixation on a point, conversational misdirection, or rapid induction depending on the client) to guide the client into a comfortable hypnotic state. Once there, the practitioner offers carefully designed suggestions oriented to the client's stated goal, then guides the client back to ordinary waking awareness. A first session is typically 90 to 120 minutes; follow-ups are 60 to 75 minutes.

When Hypnosis cohorts run in Minneapolis.
Twin Cities cohorts adjust around the deep Upper Midwest winter. May and September starts dominate; January cohorts are small. Polar-vortex weather occasionally requires schedule adjustments. The summer cohort, though shorter, produces unusually cohesive groups.
