Why Emotional Freedom Technique in Los Angeles?
EFT graduates in LA tend to work one-to-one over video and from small rooms in Pasadena or Santa Monica, often with entertainment clients managing audition stress and performance anxiety. It also pairs well if you already coach. Be straight with prospects, though: tapping looks strange to newcomers and the evidence base is still debated, so the practitioners who keep clients are the ones who explain the scope plainly and never overpromise.
If New York is where modalities are exported, Los Angeles is where many of them were first imported. The city's relationship with holistic practice goes back decades: Esalen is up the coast, the human-potential movement passed through here, and today LA holds the largest concentration of yoga teachers, energy practitioners, and somatic facilitators on the West Coast. Our Los Angeles students tend to be entertainment-industry professionals, healthcare workers, and parents — people whose sense of timing is intimate with the rhythms of attention and recovery.
For students of Emotional Freedom Technique specifically, Los Angeles's scene is a particularly good match: highest concentration of holistic professionals on the west coast. strong appetite for movement and somatic work. The local cohort runs in venue partners around Venice, Silver Lake, Pasadena, with public transit and parking accessible from across the metro.
LA applicants are often 30-50, with backgrounds in entertainment (writers, producers, post-production professionals), tech, healthcare, or hospitality. Many already hold a yoga teacher certification (RYT-200 or higher) and want a complementary credential to broaden their offering and stabilize their income through varied modalities. Others are healthcare workers (nurses, OTs, physical therapists) seeking a non-clinical sister practice. The LA student tends to be process-oriented, embodied, and unusually willing to do the slow somatic work that distinguishes our program.
What you'll be training in.

EFT — Emotional Freedom Technique, often called Tapping — combines a simple acupressure protocol with focused verbal work to address stress, anxiety, limiting beliefs, and emotional reactivity. The practitioner (or the client, in self-application) taps lightly on a specific sequence of meridian-related points on the body — top of the head, eyebrow, side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, chin, collarbone, under the arm — while the client speaks aloud about a specific issue.
What is happening physiologically remains debated, but the evidence base for EFT specifically — particularly through the Gold Standard EFT protocol developed by Dawson Church and colleagues — is now substantial. Multiple randomized controlled trials suggest meaningful effects on stress, anxiety, PTSD symptoms (in clinical settings, with licensed practitioners), and food cravings. The technique is unusually well-studied for a holistic modality.
